Every year the Women at BI group at BrightInsight has a celebration to share time together and build our community. This year, on Thursday Nov. 17th, the Women at BI gathered together in our shared cities and on Zoom to attend a virtual workshop led by Lady & Larder, a shop located in Santa Monica, California that sells everything from American-made cheeses and charcuterie to locally grown flowers. (You can see it on Instagram.)
This women-owned business is run by twin sisters, Sarah Simms Hendrix and Boo Simms, who are passionate about hospitality and cooking good food for the people they love. The shop is chic and unique, which is why it caught our attention.
We arrange events like this for Women at BI to ensure we can provide an exceptional experience for the women who work at BrightInsight. The group ensures ongoing representation within leadership and across the country for the women who work here.
The Lady & Larder workshop was all about building community while having a blast and learning a new skill. Sarah demonstrated how to make a cheese board, while chatting about the items she was using and the vendors who provide them. The 25 women who attended the workshop—tuning in from 10 different cities, with some gathering together in person—each received the equipment and ingredients they needed to follow along from home.
Here at BrightInsight, we've admired Lady & Larder from afar for a very long time, and we're so excited to have had the opportunity to collaborate. We wanted to treat Women at BI to something fun and delicious as we cap our amazing 2022, and this workshop hit the spot. We are incredibly grateful for the community we’ve built at BrightInsight, and look forward to future get-togethers like this one.
